This includes:
- Prioritising the adaptive reuse and retrofit of existing buildings where feasible
- Selecting durable, responsibly sourced, and low-impact materials
- Designing spaces that maximise longevity, operational efficiency, and guest wellbeing
Energy & Carbon Reduction
We are committed to reducing our operational carbon footprint through continuous improvement.
This includes:
- Installing energy-efficient lighting and appliances
- Monitoring and optimising building energy performance
- Transitioning towards renewable electricity procurement where practical
- Identifying opportunities to reduce operational emissions year-on-year
Carbon Measurement & Verification
Jitaku is committed to transparent measurement and reporting of its environmental impact.
This includes:
- Measuring operational carbon emissions in line with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG Protocol)
- Independently verifying emissions data through annual Planet Mark certification
- Including Jitaku within the wider Anglo American Educational Services ESG reporting boundary
- Publishing verified environmental impact data annually as part of consolidated sustainability reporting
Waste & Circularity
We seek to minimise waste and encourage circularity throughout our operations.
This includes:
- Reducing single-use plastics across guest and operational spaces
- Prioritising refillable, reusable, and lower-waste operational solutions
Water Stewardship
We aim to use water responsibly across our portfolio.
